We are celebrating Public Health Week with light refreshments, tours of the public Health Museum and a great educational program.

Public Health Museum

The Museum is housed in the Old Administration Building of Tewksbury Hospital. Tewksbury Hospital was established in 1854 as a state almshouse to care for the poor which included a growing number of immigrants.

 Directions & Parking: 

The museum is located in the Old Administration Building of Tewksbury Hospital, at 365 East Street in Tewksbury, MA 

Park ithe first or second parking lot you will see to the right. The Museum is housed in the building just beyond the Chapel.

 Donation to Charity:  Loaves & Fishes, Devens, MA  Food bank  Ideas: snacks, noodles and grains (some gluten free), canned goods, Ensure, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, toothpaste & brushes.  Or bring a check made out to “Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, Inc.”

Donna Ferreira ANP, MS, COHN-S/CM, FAAOHN

President of MaAOHN

Donna C. Ferreira is a Director Clinical Operations for Premise Health serving a large defense company for 17 years. She has over 35 years of experience in occupational health nursing which includes 18 years as Nurse Practitioner and Manager of the Medical Department at a New England electric utility. Donna is board certified in occupational health nursing, case management, hearing conservation, and as an adult nurse practitioner. She is the President of the Massachusetts Association of Occupational Health Nurses(MaAOHN) and has served on the Board for 14 years. She serves on the Northeast Association of Occupational Health Nurses Board of Directors. Donna is a Fellow of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. She is the recipient of the 2023 Medique Award for nursing leadership and the MaAOHN Lifetime Achievement award. Donna received the Ada Mayo Stewart Excellence in Occupational Health Nursing Case Management Award from American Board of Occupational Health Nursing in 2018 and the Massachusetts Association of Occupational Health Nurses’ state Nurse Excellence Award in 2014. She was the National Chairperson for Nurses of the Edison Electric Institute. She received her Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts Graduate School of Nursing where she was the President of the Honor Society. Donna graduated from Fitchburg State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Donna has been published in The Nurse Practitioner journal on Dept. of Transportation Physicals, in the Occupational Health Management journal on management skills and most recently in the April New England College of Occupational and Environmental Health newsletter on triaging. She has been a presenter at over sixty national and international conferences on various topics in occupational health.
